She Eats Poo.

I’ll admit it, I’m more of a cat person, and no, I don’t feel compelled to justify my love of cats to you crazy dog lovers! Ok maybe a little bit, dogs are pretty cool, I admire their faithfulness and all around cheery-ness; however, for some reason I prefer cats, they’re just “cooler” in my book.

I really appreciate you guys, thanks for reading :D

You just need to get to your local pet store and pick up Coprophagia treatment. Or switch your dog over to another dog food. What are you feeding him now? What breed? (I work in a pet store…I do this all day, lol)

    Reply
    • evandiaz

dunnoe the breed, may have some sort of spaniel in her, just a crazy little white dog. but she’s doing ok now, just smelly (and stupid).

Copraphagia treatment is just meat tenderizer- cut out the middle man and save yourself the hassle. I’m a vet tech, i do this all day.

I say this as my adorable (!!) kitty comes up and curls up in my lap. :D I can’t pick between cats and dogs – I’ve had both and they both have good and bad aspects (more of the good luckily). That’s what happens when you’re an animal person though. *shrug*
Any way, for some reason I love the eyes in this one. They’re all just so amazingly perfectly fitting – even the dog’s. Quite possibly the best you’ve done in that area so far. Keep up the good work.

Put meat tenderizer on the dog’s food, it will help keep her from wanting to eat poo. Also the other way to keep her from eating poo is when you take her out to poo- bring baggies and pick it up right away. Hope it helps with the poo eating. I have a cat and a dog and two pet mice. My cat thinks he’s a dog tho, so I’m not sure he counts…. he barks… sits on command… begs…chews on things he’s not supposed to…. (not even kidding). Neither my dog nor my species-confused cat eat poo tho.
I stumbled this and the extra credit- enjoy your new puppy!!! What’s her name?

    Reply
    • evandiaz

hmm, thanks for the tip! Do they just not like the taste of meat tenderizer, cause I think my dog will enjoy it more if the poo is seasoned.

      Reply
      • Holly

the reason a dog is copraphagic is generally because their poo still has too much undigested protein in it- so to them, it still smells like meat. the meat tenderizer helps break down the protein while they eat it and therefore helps decrease the amount of protein leftovers lol.

        • Janette Diaz

She doesn’t eat her own just neighborhood dogs and cats, I haven’t seen her eat her own and there is plenty in the yard still if she did. Evan doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

          Reply
          • Holly

if she’s eating other animals feces definitely make sure to get her a heartworm treatment that also does internal parasites- those can cause the scooting problems- as well as full anal glands. if that’s the problem the best bet is to pick it all up before you let her outside.

  21. TallHomunculus

You can train her not to do that. Then maybe when she stops, you can start to get attached to her.

    • evandiaz

I hate dogs, love cats. Cats are chilled out, you can sit and watch tv with a cat. Dogs like doing things and jumping… can’t be doing with that… You throw a stick for a cat and it’ll look at you like you’re a moron; as it well should.

simple thing to do is ignore em for a bit. then let them in when your ready. it shows them that if they wanna go out, they must be wanting to go out for a good reason. waiting outside for a long time helps them realize that.

I like cats, but I’m more of a dog person. Just the mental personality growing up, we’ve a barn full of them, and they’d get run over or killed by something (or each other) so no real attachment. The dogs are usually limited to 2 for a good solid decade, a boxer and something else (boxers are AWESOME breed).

Plus my brother-in-arms told me they are delicious after his tour from Korea, so if I get stationed there, I might engage in local cuisine, as long as it isn’t dog.

cats rub their butts on food prep surfaces (counters/tables etc ) dogs are not able to for the most part (not that they wouldn’t) so a pet that ill have is a dog.
Besides if it doesn’t come when called it isn’t a pet it is an owner or prey.
