    It’s all about compromise.
I don’t believe that I’m always right in my marriage. My hubby has been right many times. Women need to stop being so bossy and stop nagging.
Also, letting go of pride is an important part, too.
    Communicate effectively.
    Humor.

Remember: The pride comes before the fall. If you two are both humble, you’ll have a wonderful marriage! And of course, loving God first and foremost :)

We have this laminated piece of paper hanging on our wall with all sorts of great tips for newlyweds, I glance at it every so often and it’s a great help to me :)

Also this, yep yep. “Pride goes before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

The same principle works for living. The key to living is not dying. And the key to not dying is living.

I can’t speak from experience, but I like the idea of mutual submission. that the woman gives her husband respect, and the guy cherishes his wife.

    Man, the last time I had a bubble-bath was when I was like 5. I’m 16 now, but no, I’m a guy.

Hey, a guy can like bubbles when he’s 5! XD

Pull a credit report on yourself and your wife. Give her yours and you read hers.
I tried to refinance the house a few years ago (before the market went to hell), found out that my wife of 10 years at that time had $80K of debt..
A very Big surprise there!! We are still married but, it’s has been a very big strain on the marriage since then.

Take lots of bubble baths. Also- get one of those little $75 portable DVD players and watch your favorite movies and tv shows together in the bath tub. My fiance and I do it all the time, and its a wonderful way to keep bonding.

Always be there for each other, you are each others best friends, and should always be. :) Remember that the best thing is to continue to learn about her, and her about you, but that the best thing to do is to make her blush. The longer you’re married and the closer you are the harder it will be to find ways to make her blush; so it’ll keep you on your toes. But when you can make her blush it will totally be worth it. :)

Amaze her with strange new talents you found, like burping the ABC’s, or making a farting noise with your armpit, or using the rubber bands in your braces for launching pencils five feet. (I did that. It was so lol.)

My hubby and I just finished up our first year of marriage, too! =D
    Here are our findings:

    1) You’ve gotta learn to laugh at yourself, and to only ever laugh WITH your partner.

    2) Don’t just save up all your sweet nothings and presents for a special occasion. Do a little something every day. Love notes tucked into pockets, a favourite candy picked up ‘just because’, taking the puppy outside even though it isn’t your turn… All these are worth infinitely more than some flowers/chocolates/jewelry given annually, because they show that your love is there 24/7, not just when you’ll get in trouble for not expressing it.

    3) For geeks in love, a birthday present consisting of “The Zombie Survival Guide”, a pair of crowbars tied with sparkly butterfly ribbon, and a promise to always have his/her back will most likely be very well-received.

I’m glad to hear you two are going strong, too! Best wishes and congratulations on your marriage!

If there’s something wrong, and you can’t place it, DO NOT GIVE UP. Do everything you can to fix it, or else you will lose the opportunity and damage or even destroy your marriage.

And if you didn’t give everything to fix the problem when you had the opportunity, you will live under a cloud of regret.

No matter how insurmountable the problem may seem at the time, she (or he, for ladies and others attracted to men) is worth it.
